Build from Source (Rust)

The Mantra toolchain is an 11-crate Rust workspace. You need Rust 1.80+ and Clang for native compilation.

mantrac_lexer

Tokeniser: converts raw .mantra source text into a flat token stream.

mantrac_ast

Abstract Syntax Tree nodes: classes, interfaces, functions, expressions.

mantrac_parser

Recursive-descent parser that builds the AST from the token stream.

mantrac_checker

Type checker: resolves names, verifies interface contracts and override correctness.

mantrac_vm

Bytecode interpreter — runs .mantra programs without native compilation.

mantrac_codegen

C emitter that generates portable C99, then invokes Clang to produce a native binary.

The compiler driver CLI — orchestrates lexer → parser → checker → codegen.
